Ayavalla Preserve Participates in Project Avalanche

On April 23, 2026, Ayavalla Preserve had the opportunity to participate in Project Avalanche alongside the team from Ecdysis Foundation. During their visit, we assisted with collecting soil samples, insect samples, and other ecological field data as part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to better understand how land management practices influence overall farm ecosystem health.

Project Avalanche is a community science initiative designed to bring farmers and land stewards together while placing scientific tools directly into the hands of those working the land every day. Through the project, participating farms collect field data that is later analyzed and reviewed collaboratively to better understand the relationships between soil health, biodiversity, and agricultural management practices.

Ecdysis Foundation has sampled more than 1,500 farms and ranches across the country through its broader research initiatives, with a mission focused on supporting farmers, rural communities, and environmental stewardship. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this important work and look forward to receiving the results from the study in the months ahead.

At Ayavalla Preserve, we believe meaningful stewardship begins with curiosity, observation, and a willingness to continually learn from the land itself. We are excited to continue building relationships with organizations like Ecdysis that are helping advance thoughtful, science-based approaches to regenerative agriculture and conservation.
